III. GOOGLE USER DATA
This section explains how Plotline accesses, uses, stores and shares the data it receives from Google when you connect a Google service (“Google user data”). For Google user data, it prevails over the rest of this Privacy Policy.
What we access
You can connect Google Search Console, Blogger and Google Analytics. Each connection is optional, and we only access what it needs:
- Google Analytics: read-only reports about your website (visits, engagement, conversions and key events, traffic sources and landing pages), and the list of Google Analytics accounts and properties you can access, with the website address of their web streams, so that we can recommend the property of your website and check which websites it measures. We cannot change anything in your Google Analytics account.
- Google Search Console: the search performance data of your website (queries, pages, clicks, impressions and positions), the indexing status of its pages and the list of properties you can access. Unless you turn off Auto-indexing, we also submit your sitemap to Google when we publish an article.
- Blogger: the list of your blogs, so that you can choose one, the posts we publish and update on it for you, and the labels of your most recent posts, so that new posts reuse your labels.
How we use it
We use Google user data only to provide the features you use in Plotline:
- To show these figures to you in the app and in the reports you choose to share
- To publish the articles we create for you and measure how they perform
- To suggest keywords from the searches your website already appears in
We do not use Google user data for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not use it to train or improve AI models.
How we store and delete it
The access tokens Google gives us are stored encrypted in our database. While you choose a property or a blog right after connecting, they are also kept in our cache for up to 24 hours. Google Analytics report figures are cached for up to 6 hours, then fetched again from Google. Search Console data is stored with your website so that we can show its history.
When you disconnect a Google service on the Integrations page, we delete the access we stored for it, the cached Google Analytics figures and the Search Console history of your website. Figures already included in reports you sent and the search figures attached to your products are kept until you delete your website or ask us to delete them. You can also remove our access from your Google Account at https://myaccount.google.com/connections. This disconnects at once every Google service you connected through Plotline. To delete the data we already stored, also disconnect the services in Plotline or write to support@plotline.nl.
Who can see it
You and the members of your organization can see your Google user data in Plotline, and so can the people you share a report with. Our staff only look at it when you ask us for support, when it is needed for security, or to comply with the law.
Who we share it with
The service providers that operate and host the Service for us, including the software provider that runs the platform and our hosting, database, cache and email providers (the email provider delivers the reports you send), process Google user data on our behalf and only on our instructions. The Search Console queries we turn into keyword suggestions are also sent to our AI model and SEO data providers, to filter them, look up their search volume and write the articles you plan from them, and the labels of your recent Blogger posts are sent to our AI model provider to choose the labels of a new post. We never share Google user data with advertisers and never sell it.
Plotline’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
IV. HOW WE PROTECT INFORMATION
We implement security measures designed to protect your information from unauthorized access. Your account is protected by your account password and we urge you to take steps to keep your personal information safe by not disclosing your password and by logging out of your account after each use. We further protect your information from potential security breaches by implementing certain technological security measures including encryption, firewalls and secure socket layer technology. However, these measures do not guarantee that your information will not be accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed by breach of such firewalls and secure server software. By using our Service, you acknowledge that you understand and agree to assume these risks.
V. YOUR RIGHTS REGARDING THE USE OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
You have the right at any time to prevent us from contacting you for marketing purposes. When we send a promotional communication to a user, the user can opt out of further promotional communications by following the unsubscribe instructions provided in each promotional e-mail. You can also indicate that you do not wish to receive marketing communications from us by sending an email to support@plotline.nl. Please note that notwithstanding the promotional preferences you indicate by either unsubscribing or contacting us, we may continue to send you administrative emails including, for example, periodic updates to our Privacy Policy.
VI. LINKS TO OTHER WEBSITES
As part of the Service, we may provide links to or compatibility with other websites or applications. However, we are not responsible for the privacy practices employed by those websites or the information or content they contain. This Privacy Policy applies solely to information collected by us through the Site and the Service.
